You may have received a used scarf.
I bought a navy blue scarf, it is nice and wide but has a rough/hard texture in a large area near the edge, along the width of the scarf and on the other side. Like it was folded in half lengthwise and something spilled on it. I hand washed it but I still can't get rid of it. I'm very disappointed but I'll try again and see what happens.
