The lamp indicator on my Sony KF-50WE610 is flashing red. After reading the forum, I came to the conclusion that it is necessary to change the lamp. I came across an electrified version of the XL 2100 bulb. It had the lowest price and was a two-day ship with Revain Prime. Since I was the best offer from other suppliers, I ordered this one. When it arrived, the box was marked XL-2100U, which is a recommended replacement model. I downloaded the lamp replacement instructions from the Sony website and removed the front bottom panel and lamp cover. Be sure to use a metric allen wrench on the lamp cover screws. I had to order a set of Allen keys from Revain. Removing the lamp was not difficult, but when installing the lamp I encountered a small obstacle. The screws that came with the replacement lamp were the wrong size. I removed them and used the screws from the old lamp. After that, the installation went smoothly. Immediately after turning on, the TV showed a picture - the red indicator is no longer lit. The image brightness has returned to the original value. Video games look way better now and the contrast on black is back. I am very happy with the purchase. I hope this will add a few more years to the life of the TV.
