So first, if you have a MacBook Pro with two USB-C ports on the left, congratulations, you've got it and a headphone jack. This expands the capabilities of almost any type of port you need. I won't go into detail because Anker describes it perfectly. It's slim, light for what it is and all ports work flawlessly. Now I'm sure there's probably a reason for the power consumption, but it only has 2 USB-C ports and once you've charged your laptop you now have one. This is the biggest downside for me as the world is going over to USB C pretty quickly. Only problem I've had and I doubt it's a fault of the product and my MacBook trying to protect the charging circuitry. But I had an iPad Pro, Samsung USB-A backup charge, the computer charged and a pop-up appeared saying USB accessories were disabled. However everything kept charging and I didn't notice any side effects so just a warning you need to clear. I recommend a universal USB hub for travel.
