**My photos include a 3rd party MagSafe charging dongle which I added to the mix** So I am extremely biased towards AIAIAI modular headphones and have been a loyal user for 5 years. I DJed and produced with them and just wore them around the house for countless hours. I've worn out a set of speakers and a couple of leather earpads but have only ever been able to purchase the part I needed to replace it and keep my setup going, which as a lifelong headphone fanatic I appreciate. Having been using this brand for so long I can highly recommend the S04 speakers and E04 leather ear pads or the new Alcantara E08 ear pads (if like me you prefer over-ear pads). I've been a long time E04 user but recently switched to E08 and love it. I also highly recommend you to buy this E05 bluetooth headband instead of the other bluetooth headband they sell (E06). This one is a little cheaper but doesn't seem to have the same precision as this E05 headband so stick with it. In terms of quality, I've never had any complaints about AIAIAI's modular materials and they seem to be just as high. Quality like everything else I have used from them. A big limitation is that you have to update the firmware as soon as you load it up. I was about to return mine because they kept turning me off even when I heard something. I thought I had a bad set and was about to go through the return process, but then realized other reviewers were mentioning firmware updates. The update process is very simple and can be done from Windows or Mac. Other reviewers have mentioned how to get the firmware, so I won't repeat myself here. The only complaint I have is that while I welcome the USB-C port for charging, I hated its position and wondered if I could use it for a really long time without damaging anything because you're using the charger somehow to a jack very close to one of the speaker wires. Anyway, I solved the problem with a small Magloc update called Magnetic USB C Adapter, Type C Connector from Upmely. Now I have a good magnetic connection and don't have to worry about straining that part of my headphones. I'm sure at some point they will change the location of this port or just add a magnetic connection from the jump, but I don't mind an extra $20 for such a nice solution. And a final note on the sound quality, it's great. I would recommend the speakers I use myself, but you can try different ones and choose the ones you like best. The battery life is also very good.
