Where I work the microwave sometimes works, sometimes it doesn't and sometimes it's just annoying. That being said, not only does it hold my lunch, but I can take a quick break before lunch, plug it in and it will heat my food. Although it only comes with a car adapter I work outside there is a power station with a car plug which allows me to use it in the caravan which we use as a break room. Depending on what I have, it takes 30 to 60 minutes to heat food. It depends on how cold the food is and the size of the food I want to reheat. I use reusable plastic containers and even with that, for that time it heats my food and doesn't melt the container. I've planned a hike in the mountains when it's cooler and I'm definitely going to do that.
