Update: I found that the charger I was using just wasn't providing enough power to charge, even after it was plugged in for a few days. I used a new charger that I bought for another item and it immediately started glowing brightly when I plugged it in and now it works. I'm still disappointed that it never charges with any other charger, but I guess it does. The company contacted me after contacting me and wanted to make sure I had a good product which is a plus but now that I've found the problem I don't need a replacement. Now I also have a safe alternative to candles if we lose power again as long as I'm sure it's charged! That was great. it worked the first three times. It was given away as a novelty and sat in the box for the first few months after Christmas. Then I thought why not use it? I took it out of the box, charged it, I was impressed. He sat down again. Used, charged, sat again. Fast forward a few months and the power went out. It was early in the morning and my son was getting ready for school. Wanted to put this in the bathroom instead of a candle. That does not work. After power was restored, I charged it. It does not begin. It just emits a faint red glow when charging. Really disappointed when I finally put it to good use (as our power seems to go off early in the morning every few months).
