Review on Ghost of Tsushima game for PlayStation 4 by Wiktor ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

My impression of the purchase is good, buy it.

purchased a curling iron especially for this game. Unfortunately, it disappointed because it fell short of expectations. As a result, I got the impression that the entire game was just a gorgeous environment without any actual gameplay. Each component looks wonderful on its own, but it gradually becomes monotonous. If not, the game would need to contain less content overall or involve a wider variety of activities. While the fighting is excellent, there are a staggering number of unexplored battle possibilities. By the time the game was through, I was sick of facing the same opponents and doing the same side tasks—side quests, not tales. But if you don't have to go through and find everything, you can happily concentrate on finishing the main story and any accompanying stories. It's true that the game will eventually have you grind a level.

Pros
  • The main plot is well-written, and the characters are vivid and well-rounded. They have some diversity here. I've never recorded so many screenshots and screencasts of a game, and the staging of each mission is some sort of cinematic masterpiece.
Cons
  • There are only four different varieties of Mongols (who become three times stronger as the game advances but remain the same adversaries), one type of straw hat, and one type of Mongols wearing golden armor, which makes the enemy variety excessively repetitive. There aren't enough distinctions and distinguishing characteristics amongst the bosses, and every fight in the game is designed using the same basic framework. The main plot is clearly superior to the sidequests. I only read through two of the four or five narratives, and they are all only average. Additionally, the Tomoe and Ishikawa storyline's conclusion defies all logic.
