First of all these shelves are very cute overall and I LOVE them. However, DO NOT use the mounting system supplied with the shelves. *TRUST ME HERE* They want you to use a 8mm (5/16) diameter drill bit to drill holes for their drywall anchors. NOT. Go to a hardware store and get better quality drywall anchors. Get a set of thinner screws (anchors with a 1/4 drill bit will probably work just fine), but they'll hold the weight the shelf has to support. Bring one of the screws included with the shelves and ask for help if you need help finding the correct replacement set. I went through the ENTIRE installation process just to get the shelves down. I ended up taking them off and going to Home Depot to get new anchors (of course, having read the reviews on here, this should have been done first). I had already drilled 8mm (5/16) anchor holes (obviously), so I had to use #14-#16 x 1.5" green anchors (which required 5/16 holes). The problem was that the screws, that came with the new anchors were too big for the screw holes in the mounting bracket (so I recommend downsizing the size 5/16 given in the instructions) I ended up using new anchors along with the original shelf manufacturers screws is better than it was but still not 20 pounds stronger.I will be installing a second set using the smaller anchors and hope they eventually get stronger.I will also note that the screws on the underside of the shelf are used to hold the to support mounting arms in the shelf. They sucked to screw it in, and in the end it turned out to be something like a diagonal. I *think* that's supposed to happen? The screw seems like a 'wedge' of sorts between the mounting arm and the inside of the r no matter so that the mounting arm stays taut after the shelf portion has been slid over the brackets. I know this is a long explanation but I wanted to make sure you included the details of the entire ass pain process I had to go through so you don't have to go through the same ass pain process. I am sure that with the right installation they will be very beautiful!
