So we've been working on this test report for a long time. And the reason is that we originally bought the cable in 2013 (December 2013 to be exact) and it was only this year, 2020 (now April 15, 2020 as I write this review) that the cable deteriorated finally. on us and we had to buy another one. 7 years of continuous use on MacBooks of various models and years, all with working video and sound (with one noted exception). All of these machines were connected to an LG 42CS560 TV. The first MacBook we used this cable with was a white unibody MacBook 13" 2009. The cable worked GREAT. Good picture and crystal clear sound. This machine ran (and still runs) OSx Snow Leopard. I then Upgraded to a newer unit and received a 2010 15" MacBook Pro (no retina display). The cable continued to work as best it could - picture and sound were clear. This MacBook is currently running OSx High Sierra. I ended up having upgraded to a slightly newer machine and got a 2010 13" MacBook Air. To be clear, all my other Macs still work (they're in storage now) and I still used the cable with them when I owned this machine too. The cable also works with this one (it's my current laptop) for both video and audio. This MacBook is currently running OSx High Sierra. We also occasionally use a cable from a 2010 17" MacBook Pro (no Retina display) and the cable works well there too - it just doesn't get any sound for that unit (I can't select our TV as the output on the system). Settings if it's connected for some reason), video only. We make it work when we need it for this particular machine. This MacBook is running OSx High Sierra, either that or Yosemite I think. Whatever , long story short we have been using this cable nonstop for 7 years on 4 different MacBooks to connect each computer to the same TV and it has NEVER let us down we had no picture interference our sound was always crystal clear and I could even use this cable when traveling which makes it an absolutely amazing and must have gadget in my tech arsenal! The only reason it broke for us Gen is that *I* gave it a weird squeeze when I plugged it in about two months ago (February 2020, around Valentine's Day), not because the cable itself was faulty or defective. Seriously, get it. Cable. This is salvation for us, and it will be salvation for you. A great functional cable that does exactly what it promises and at an unbeatable price.
