Nice chair for $69

Received the chair today, put it together and am sitting in it right now. The assembly is easy and the chair makes a very solid impression. I bought it at an attractive price of $69, which seems like a fair price since shipping was included. I love the Flash furniture sets. Until recently, I used the Flash Furniture kneeling chair at my desk. Because I injured my knee, I can't use a kneeling chair for more than a few hours without discomfort. I bought this chair which is a regular office chair with armrests and a backrest. It's not as ergonomic as a lap chair, but it's pretty good. I wanted to buy a chair upholstered in fabric instead of leather so it wouldn't stick to my feet and animals wouldn't be killed to make the chair. The black fabric looks great. Height adjustment works well and pivoting works well. There is no recline adjustment to control the degree of recline of the chair back. To do this, you need to switch to a more expensive chair. You can recline the chair slightly by pushing with your feet, then it will return to an upright position when you stop pushing. I'm 5'8" tall and the back of my chair comes down to my shoulder blades. I recline comfortably in my chair and have full back support. There is no head or neck support in the chair but I don't need it anyway. The The back of the chair is curved for lumbar support. The lumbar support is almost in the right place for my back, but I think it's about an inch from ideal. I don't think I'll be uncomfortable. It can do for a bit be designed for a taller person. The padding feels very compressible and probably won't stay soft, but that's not a problem for me as I just use a pillow or rolled up blanket.Regarding assembly: I have experience assembling furniture , as I assemble most of the furniture in the house from kits to save money Assembling on this chair is easy if you have some experience with tools. Unfortunately it doesn't have detailed instructions, just one of those sheets with detailed pictures of what to do at each stage of assembly, but the pictures are easy to read. There is only one screw size, so it's easy to figure out which size goes where. It comes with its own Allen key so the only other tool you need to open the box is scissors as the box was sealed very well when the UPS guy brought it in. You may also need a pair of cotton gloves as the allen wrench will dig into your palm as you tighten the screws. There is one important detail that is not mentioned in the instructions, so I will explain it here in case you are new to DIY furniture assembly. At each step of assembly when inserting screws, be sure to rotate the screws around them and tighten evenly. Do not fully tighten a screw and then move on to the next screw. Instead, you need to tighten each screw very lightly, then tighten each screw a little more, and keep turning until they're all as tight as possible. I'm not an engineer so I can't explain why this is required. I think it has something to do with side forces. In any case, the various screws must be rotated and tightened incrementally so that they are all equally tightened to securely assemble the chair and ensure the screws do not loosen. If you don't follow these instructions, some of the screws will loosen and the chair will become unstable. I would recommend this chair as a good mid-range chair if you are willing to take the time to ensure all the screws are properly tightened.

Cons
  • Good but not great
