Built in Tongue in Running Road
I don't know if these shoes are made that way, my husband has a pair for men and it has a regular tongue and women has an insert sewn into the sides at the bottom. I can't even put my foot in it, even if I had to, because the hole is too small in this case. I hope it's some kind of random defect and I can get a new pair of shoes to replace it, but if not I don't recommend these shoes.
