One rule when it comes to video or photography (or anything to do with lighting design) is that you will never have enough light in your inventory. So why buy one when you can buy two? Of course, that's not the selling point of this one. It's only a set of two if you want to buy two instead of one. The selling point is each individual light and what it can offer for the price. In this case, the lanterns sell extremely well. If you cut the price in half to determine the price of each and then compare them to what's out there, they're only marginally higher than your non-RGB options with the same lighting style. They're not as compact as some of the slimmer options with built-in batteries, but one of them is usually worth the price of the two combined. So two completely different ball games. They're great for those who want to charge a light (or buy a few) and don't have the money for the more expensive options. When you're ready, you can move on to the best options (these guys sell them too!) and save them for backups or fillers. There are two dials on the back to keep it simple and tidy, one for brightness and one for temperature (hot to cold). Pressing the temperature button switches to full RGB range tint mode. Nothing special. They come with everything you need, including a (very) basic diffuser. If you need something more, you have to stick a gel or something like that on it. They come with desktop tripod stands to hold them and have the usual threads at the bottom for those stands, or you can attach them to a regular camera mount and use regular tripods or adapters to take them anywhere. You need them (you'll have to get all of this yourself, of course, except for the small tripods that come with the kit). They also have a battery and charger for each flashlight, which is an important feature that really justifies this price, as well as a cold shoe adapter so they can ride right on camera. There is a power supply connector. on the side of each light, although it doesn't come with an adapter. It would be nice to get one of these, but you can find a universal adapter that isn't usually too expensive. Only go this route if you are planning a static installation instead of a mobile one. You can connect to lights via the GVM Easy app (weird name, we know, but it doesn't matter as long as it works). ). Each display broadcasts its own WiFi SSID that you can connect to and then the application can perform the same function as the watch faces on the back. The only catch is that the app can only connect to one light source at a time. This is a bit of a nuisance as it doesn't really save you much time unless the lights are out of range. When they're around, you can manually adjust everything from their back just as quickly, if not faster. This is because the app can only connect one at a time. It is not possible to connect them to the same network. This would make them an incredibly desirable purchase as you could have all of your lights set up at once. Unfortunately, you can only do one function at a time, so you'll likely skip that function and adjust the lights directly (unless they're out of range, which makes the app handy). The battery life seems pretty good and I'm sure you can buy more batteries from them if you want. If not, the batteries are Sony NP-F550 type, so you might find another suitable option. So far we like these lights very much. For their price you get a pretty decent set of features and they come with everything you need (batteries included) and they're pretty bright. The app needs a feature but you might never use it anyway. This is a good product from a good brand. That's why we decided to give this round 5 stars!** If you found our review helpful, please rate it below so we know. This helps us to provide quality feedback in the future.
