Great little camera to get out of a point and shoot situation

Bought this camera for my sister. She took amazing point and shoot photos and had to switch to a digital SLR. At the time it was the cheapest Nikon body on Amazon (restored by Cameta Camera). Now I'm shooting with the D200 and the D60 doesn't have all the features I'm used to. However, it was everything I expected and beautiful photos were taken. The lack of an autofocus motor limits the camera's capabilities, but the number of AF-S lenses available is constantly growing. Being able to have a 10 megapixel SLR camera confuses me. You can take HUGE prints with this professional-quality camera (but the camera itself doesn't give you the skills of a professional photographer). This body is tiny. Sitting next to a large P&S, it's only slightly larger. Only having 3 AF points robs you of some of the ease of use you get with high-end bodies, but they focus sharply and quickly. My favorite AF-S lens for these non-focus motor bodies would be the #1 Nikon 35mm f/1.8G AF. -S DX lens for Nikon digital SLR cameras. This results in a focal length of 50mm on the film body. Ideal travel lens and built-in auto focus motor. This lens is great for portraits and still lifes. If you can only buy one lens right now, buy this one. #2 Nikon 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S ED VR II telephoto zoom lens for Nikon DX format DSLRs This lens is available from wide-angle to telephoto. You can leave this lens on your camera all day for most needs. On the other hand, it costs twice as much as a normal camera. #3 Nikon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED IF AF-S VR Zoom Nikkor Lens for Nikon DSLRs. If you're buying a camera to take pictures of kids playing soccer, you need this lens. It's perfect for outdoor sports and offers plenty of range. It is also great for photographing birds or other nature. It's a bit heavy, but much lighter, less bulky, and cheaper than the 70-200 f/2.8.
