Hat is of good size for full protection. It looks nice. I have a normal size head but the I need to tighten it to fit me properly. Unfortunately, the ribbon that should serve this purpose was undone and there was no place to insert it. I had to take the hat to a seamstress to stitch a channel around the bottom of the crown so that a new ribbon (I will use a piece of elastic instead) to be inserted and tightened to fit my head. Disappointing. I would have returned it, but I am travelling to a seacoast vacation soon, no time to return and find another one.
