ballpoint pen ink is not permanent at all. I was struck by the idea that you could have both a click and a pen and this particular pen has, apart from the fact that when you pull out the ballpoint pen it doesn't leave any ink behind at all. By the time I discovered how low the ink supplies were I had already used 2 pens and am deeply disappointed in this product which could have been great had it not been for the fact that the pen's ink doesn't last long at all. . I would classify this as a defective product.
