Too high for everyday use but has some performance benefits.
It's too long for everyday HT use (and could otherwise easily damage the SMA mount), but it has the expected VHF performance. I doubt this is of any value for UHF. However, if you're in field station mode on VHF, or in the outback trying to set up a simplex in your base, or just need some extra range from your favorite repeater, this offers the opportunity. The SWR was pretty good, by the way, as you would expect for this type of device.
- Dual function antenna: telescopic antenna and conventional antenna. Can be interchangeable, use different antennas in different circumstances, the antenna is very easy to disassemble and easy to carry.
