This is a good product and my pets love it, my senior dog has arthritis in his hips and knees and the warm warmth he is lying on helps him exercise a lot. You can feel warmth on your hand after it's been laid out long enough to enter, but it doesn't get as warm as I'd like. I also have a 13w pet heating pad that gets noticeably warmer, but it doesn't have the nice soft cover that this one does. None of them get as hot as a regular human heating pad, even on the lowest settings, so I don't have to worry about it burning them or overheating if I leave it on all day.
