Every lens hood I've looked at has had negative reviews for showing up in pictures with the widest lens angle. didn't matter, so I went with this one. It fits well, it works well, the rubber cap can make a full circle in the wide-angle image and is fully extended. not visible at the widest angle in the image and long "leaves" oriented vertically. Both hoods were mounted over a UV filter that expanded their position by about 1/8 inch. The rubber hood has held each of the 3 positions fairly consistently and I have no problem with that. .To flip the tulip hood, easy to do with the lens extended, hold the lens and remove the hood, flip it over and put it on. good idea to do it. There are 4 spring loaded ball bearings that snap into a groove on the mounting ring. They require a lot of push and pull to flip the position. The best way to do this is to keep the lens barrel extended while attaching the lens hood. UPDATE: I've noticed that after several repeated hood removals and reinstallations, the ring has scuff marks where the spring-loaded bearing balls enter the groove. The springs behind the bearing balls are too strong and unnecessary, causing the balls to wear on the rim of the aluminum ring when the shroud is slid over them. the mount ring will degrade over time with each hood mount.
