This is the ultimate desk lamp if you have a place to clamp it to. It has many levels of warm or bright light and remembers your setting when turned off and on. The magnifier is real glass and works great. It does have a pretty huge clamp that opens to about 2 inches so it can fit just about any shelf or desktop. The control switch is inline about a foot from the lamp and I have mine handy at the front of my desk. It extends up to about 2 feet from the clamp. It even works very well as an adjustable ring light for photography if you turn it upwards.
