LED lamp appears to work as advertised and is quite bright. The remote control works within advertised range and the solar panel also appears to work well. The problem is the cable that connects the solar charger and the lightbulb. One of the two I received had a broken wire insulation (see photo). This was fixed with duct tape but it was annoying that it was out of the box like this. Another plate came intact but broke very easily when trying to unplug the bulb. Okay - it looks like I pulled the cord, not the plug, but since lights like these are often in awkward spots, it can be difficult to get the plug out of the back of the bulb and get all your fingers on the plug . Vice. Therefore, due to the weak wire, it broke with a fairly small pulling force. It was also annoying since that panel is useless now. The lamp can be charged via USB without a solar panel. However, this product does not include other cables that allow you to charge the battery without a solar panel. The cable required is fairly common, so most people will have it, and this type of charging works well if you can find the right cable.
