With a little time and effort, it becomes absolutely amazing.
When I first pulled this collar out of my pocket, I wasn't thrilled. It got great reviews and while it wasn't terrible it was pretty flat and flexible and just not great but honestly pretty much what I expected for the price. BUT! I figured I'd put in a little time, use a lot of strength and curling irons liberally and it turned out to be an absolutely stunning ruff that I can't wait to wear with my Elizabethan dress. Considering how much it costs to buy a neck brace on etsy or something, it's worth the price if you're willing to put in a little effort. The first photo is before I made anything, the last two are after I starched and shaped it.
