My shield is just perfect. I read the review for the aluminum version after ordering the PVC version. I could see how the etched aluminum version could be confused with what is pictured and described. Laser cutting in this case probably refers to an oval cutout. I think the promotional opportunities worked because a lot of people wanted to know the product. However, they don't say that the actual design is clipped that way. Nevertheless, the sign is very durable and a nice decorative sign instead of the usual "GO OUT" signs. I work from home and have a small dog that sleeps in the corner. Every time the doorbell rings, my dog spreads his wings and takes off to bark invading his sleep. Not very professional for my clients to hear this on the phone. The sign comes with pre-drilled holes on the bottom and top, ideal for permanent mounting. Since I'm renting an apartment, I used wire to wrap my screen door. The print itself appears to be durable, but only time will tell. I live in the southwestern part of the state and have hot sun during the day. I'll be sure to update if there are any further developments. While I give this product two thumbs up, it just looks like it was tastefully made.
