If you have never used anything other than "soap dishes," then the contrast between the two will be quite obvious to you, and you will quickly start to value the superiority of the photograph. I would like to offer some words of wisdom to anyone who are considering purchasing (or who have already purchased) this camera: 1. If you only have access to inexpensive optics (kits), you should look into purchasing an SB-700 or SB-900 flash if at all possible (determine by money). The built-in flash will never be able to provide you with the same level of even illumination, accurate color reproduction, or crispness as the flashes discussed above can. In addition, make use of the flash not just when the available light is low but also when it is normal or even sunny outside; this will ensure that the lighting in the photo is uniform. 2. Make a decision about what you will shoot and where you will do so. Make your lens selections based on this information. If you travel quite a bit, you should look at purchasing a universal zoom such as an 18-105 or 18-200. If the majority of your photography is done indoors or focuses on portraiture, you should consider purchasing a fast-fix 35mm or 50mm lens. Yet, there are instances when it is more practical to get an additional body 55-200 or 55-300 to go along with the whale 18-55! As a result, the full necessary distance between the camera and the subject of the shot was covered. 3. When shopping for a bag for a camera, keep in mind that even beginning photographers eventually end up purchasing additional lenses and a flash. In light of this, you should consider how everything that could possibly (or really must) fit in the bag, and not simply a camera and a single lens. This will result in monetary savings.
