Review on 👕 Conair Travel Smart Garment Steamer, Dual Voltage, 450W, Green, One Size - Enhancing SEO by Brett Blazis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I bought it and compared it to the Samsonite travel steamer

We are going on a trip to Europe and wanted a portable steamer. When you have a weight limit, you will quickly discover that "less is more". I bought Samsonite and Conair at the same time to test both. Without a doubt, Samsonite is smaller and lighter, but not by much. I put on a cotton shirt—fresh out of the dryer and wrinkled—and experimented. They both really worked. The Samsonite took a little longer to heat up - about a minute - and let off steam that you couldn't hold with your hand, about 3 inches. The Conair heated up much faster and produced vapor that you couldn't hold your hand against, up to about 4-5 inches. The Conair simply heats up faster. As Samsonite moved on, the pair got smaller and smaller. Before it was empty, it didn't give off much steam at all - and not enough to "iron" a shirt. You'd have to refill Samsonite (refilling isn't a problem on either machine) to get enough vapor to finish the shirt, but it will undoubtedly get the job done. The Conair is a bit bigger and maybe a bit heavier. - but again - imperceptible. The Conair heated up very quickly and put out a lot of vapor - to the end of the tank. Undoubtedly, it was getting hotter and sending steam farther away from the device. The vapor head isn't as wide as the Samsonite, but the Conair's vents are widened, so I'd rate the coil width about the same. However, the amount of vapor is another matter and more important to me. I have no doubt that Conair is the better of the two. The extra steam output will treat wrinkles more effectively than Samsonite. Samsonite is a good product but could be better. Oh, one more very small consideration. They're both dual-voltage, but Samsonite requires you to change the voltage with a switch. Conair does this automatically. You can use Samsonite. It may take a little longer but it will get the job done. To be honest I would have liked an even smaller setup than I had 20 years ago but it eventually broke and was no longer produced. It was about 1/2 times smaller than both and produced a lot more vapor. You had to refill more often, but it was good - and small. I didn't give it 5 stars just because it could be smaller - and someone has to. I take Conair.
