MagSafe automatically pulls and aligns it in the right place. I prefer the horizontal mount for my phone, but the vertical one works well too. Charging seems on par with my previous wireless mount. Overall, this is a very affordable MagSafe mount that does everything I need it to do. I can't think of any major issues or areas for improvement, hence 5 stars!
