I have tried several glass microwave lids but they were too heavy and awkward to use and clean. I have had it for many months now and it is a pleasure to use! The glass is a bit thin, but lighter and much more comfortable to handle. The heavy one was hard to control and was very noisy against the glass slingshot in the microwave when I put it on. I was afraid to use it, especially as it was dangerous to handle something so heavy and hot. I'm never scared when using it and I've never burned my fingers because of the nice rubber grip. I set it on a saucer on the counter after use to let it cool before cleaning, then store in the microwave when not in use.
