It tends to unwrap from the pad, especially if the drill is moving the wrong way, but will also come off the right way if you don't push it against the window. You will need to use a variable speed drill, most of which run at a lower speed or the cream solution will fly. But it works great at slow speeds. You don't really need much if you have a nylon mesh kitchen sponge to use instead. Just use this and a bottle without a drill. So much cheaper. How to rinse with water. To finish, I use ammonia-free spray window cleaner, which you can buy almost anywhere for less than $3. Cleans and shines perfectly, leaving no trace of an afterword. Happy with this product as nothing else works.
