Review on 📷 Samsung HMX-T10 1080i Camcorder - 10x Optical Zoom (White) by Steve Brethorst

I just love my new camcorder. First let me thank The Folded Space Review for being accurate and up to date. I'll just add a few comments from an amateur perspective. It was important that my new camcorder had optical image stabilization rather than digital. As for less expensive makes and models, none of them seemed to have this feature at this price point. It works out! I have to walk slowly, very slowly, and not shake the camcorder too much. Not many dizzying moments (unless I'm zooming or panning too fast). The picture quality of HD videos is exquisite. Colors are rich, details are pleasing, action is fluid. 10x optical zoom is enough for me. More optical zoom is always better, but for the price I'm not complaining. The zoom is adjusted on the camcorder itself (allowing for very slow zooming) or on the LCD screen (there are dedicated zoom buttons, but the speed is fixed and fast). The picture quality of the 4.7 megapixel camera is not very good. The colors and exposure are great, but the resolution just isn't there. Not a big deal really, I'm sure it will make some great 4x6s or 5x7s with no issues and it's nice to know the feature exists. The menu is not too deep and contains all the necessary items. at hand. I once had a camcorder with many built-in features, but they were so hard to come by that I never used them. Everything you need is at your fingertips in this camera: manual focus on the touchscreen, scene modes, macro, EV, backlight, etc. Pressing the LCD with one or two fingers really takes advantage of the main functions! The backlit CMOS sensor lets you capture great indoor videos using only traditional incandescent lights. This was important to me since my house isn't very bright (the whole house is wood paneled) and I've just got a new pup who isn't quite ready to start playing around in the big open real world. I set the camcorder to "All Automatic" (one dedicated button) and voila! Indoor videos that are not grainy but bright. It's nice to have a product that makes bold claims and lives up to them. Image quality really is as good as advertised, image stabilization works, and the backlit CMOS really makes for great low-light videos. The software is a mixed bag and be careful when playing! The intelli-studio software downloads videos and photos to your computer quickly and easily. The camcorder saves and transmits in AVCHD mode. I like it because it's a new and promising standard for this type of camcorder. Unfortunately, the playback software jerks and jerks on my computer, which is only a few weeks old. It's not a speed demon, but it's no fool. I almost returned the camcorder because at first I thought the image stabilization was buggy and jerky. No, it was just part of the Samsung software rendering. When I use Windows Player in Windows 7 or Cyberlink DVD Suite Gold to preview raw footage, I am amazed at the smooth, colorful detail of the recorded data. I bought a 16GB Transcend card and it lasts about 2 hours on the best HD video setting (1080i) and 4 hours on the other HD setting (720p). I think that's a lot. Who has time to edit let alone watch something at my amateur level anyway, right? I am happy with my purchase. This camcorder exceeded all my expectations. I have a feeling that this model will become popular soon as its features and capabilities become known. I would buy this again in a heartbeat. I will update if there are any reliability issues.
