Best Personal Wearable EKG Recorder On The Market

If you too have bought and used a $99 wearable two-finger EKG monitor and haven't encountered any signal problems, the battery life is weeks instead of years and a worse customer support, you should get your hands on one of these! It connects via Bluetooth and a USB cable to a PC or ANY smartphone that has the Contec PHMS app installed (you don't need a $1,000 phone that can hear the inaudible sounds used by marketing trackers ). The PC software is a small and simple application that the PM10 automatically finds. Connect the micro USB cable between your PC on which the software is installed and the PM10, then launch the software. When the device is found and (automatically) connected, you'll see a spinning progress arrow when the time is first set on the device, and the ECGs you've already taken while playing with the new toy will be counted and displayed . From this list of results contained on the device, you can choose whether you want to download one or all files to the PC, after which a list of what you have downloaded will be displayed. Click on any of the downloaded ECGs and the result will open in familiar graph paper format for viewing and scrolling. Click on the ECG displayed to return to the downloaded list. Each ECG can be printed from this view or deleted from the device and PC. The PHMS app for Android phones can be found on Google Play. I found it under the company name CONTEC. Once in the app, press a button to search for a Bluetooth device. That means get ready to push the button and then start the PM10. If you dim the light, you'll see a faint, blinking blue light under the white plastic on the top-right curved end of the PM10. It took several times to pair app/phone and PM10. Everything happens automatically. The app asks for permission to access everything in your life and on your phone. I installed the app, said yes to everything, then went to apps and permissions for PHMS and disabled everything except memory and the app works fine. The bent end of the PM10 is the "negative" terminal. when making the electrical connection. So if you grab the EKG with your left and right palms, the curved end should rest against the palm or wrist of your right hand, while the flat side of the PM10 should rest against your left palm. If you mix up the ends, the ECG graph will be "inverted" from what is normally displayed. If you've used another device, you'll immediately see how BIG the metal contacts are on this relatively small device. Also, it's not a button battery that controls the device. I've been using my PM10 for almost four weeks and I've used it three times as much as the smaller and more limited unit that was returned for a refund. The battery is always "full", also because I prefer to connect it to my computer, where it charges via USB. There are many more. This is not a "diagnostic" tool. You WANT a cardiologist to help you if you need any of these. What any portable EKG monitor gives you (aside from an "all-time-on" holter attached to you with adhesive electrodes) is an imprecise estimate -- a 10- or 30-second snapshot, or the heart's electrical activity. Sometimes you light it up and squeeze the PM10 with both hands to catch something you feel and what made you turn on the device won't happen again in those 10 or 30 seconds. Sometimes you will. And it was helpful for me in working with my doctor. When these images are viewed over time, they help the specialist make better decisions about what to recommend and what to do with medications and other treatments. At least that is my expierience. Image: PM10 connected to a USB hub, connected to a PC with the Contec PM10 application open on the PC monitor and an EKG in the downloaded list of what the PM10 is storing.
