Pretty good! - my new review

I really like this paper for what I needed it for - I'm making an assortment of paper succulent flowers for home decor projects. I cut out the pieces using my Cricut Maker 3 on both a light grip and standard grip mat with a premium fine point blade. The light grip was slightly better to weed, but I did lose a sheet or two and have to recut because my light grips are losing some stickiness. Some of the smaller pieces did not cut all the way through. Part of the problem is that it does not say anywhere on the packaging what the weight of the paper is. The listing says it's text weight, but I am not sure that's accurate. Using the "lightweight cardstock" setting in Design Space, which is supposed to be for 65 lb weight, didn't quite do it. I am glad I tried this pack before splurging on a certain other premium "frosted" craft paper brand, because it basically worked and didn't cost me $100 for a wide assortment of colors. Though it would be nice if the colors in this pack were a bit more complimentary of one another - there are a lot of colors but few that would work as a coordinating palette. Also, this is not solid core paper - it's white on the inside, so I went over the cut edges with a marker to give it some dimension and realism. Overall, I'm happy with the purchase for the sake of this project, and I don't mind doing a bit of touching up on the cuts and edges to make it just right. But if you are searching for a unicorn product that works just as well as the fancy brand at a fraction of the price, this ain't it.

Pros
  • Nice assortment of colors. Paper is of good weight.
Cons
  • Was not shiny enough, and would not hold up to cutting
