Terrible quality control - one lamp does not work

Unfortunately we bought two of these lamps as we thought they would be perfect for our small back room. Well, one of them works absolutely perfectly, and the second one is just awful. Both lamps are set to maximum light, and as you can see, the right lamp even lights up the left a little. We are so disappointed and have ordered a replacement which hopefully is not as useless as the one we have.
