Conclusion: If you install this monitor arm the way you're expected to, great! So I bought this mount because it was cheap, had good reviews, and looked solid. Also because it had multiple installation options on the desktop. I have a dedicated computer desk so I decided to just drill a hole in the desk and mount it that way. Everything went fine except I assumed (I know) that the two horizontal parts of the arm would fold back all the way until they touched next to each other. They won't, and obviously they can't, judging by the looks of it. So I can't move the screen as far as I want. I'll be remounting it with the L-Bracket variant you see in the picture attached to the bottom of the arm, except I just screw it to the back of my desk so it's all further back. I have to plug the hole I made in the table top, but that's okay. Everything else is great. It runs smoothly, is VERY durable and frees up space on my desktop. Buy it, you will like it.
