The camera itself is quite small, I'll use it without the extra tape lens. However, if you want to mount it so that it is not visible, the tape lens makes it very discreet. I've used it along with the app according to the instructions and haven't had any problems, haven't tried it with the SD card yet. The device can keep about 2 hours of recording time on a charge or connected via USB. Can take a photo or video, the last picture was taken at about 8 feet away. It has an additional night that can be switched on/off or programmed by time. Not intended for long trips, I find the quality acceptable. The price is good for the item you are buying.
