A fun standalone product and part of their unlimited Track Builder series, this Hot Wheels Loop could be a nice feature to complement more traditional track layouts. For planning purposes, the set is quite large and requires a significant amount of floor or table space. Assembly is facilitated by a decent style guide consisting mostly of illustrations. It helps that the pieces have embossed letters to match the steps in the instructions. The components fit together and work at a leisurely pace, taking about 15 minutes to assemble. The set requires four D batteries (not included) and only one car is included. So if the gift is for a special occasion, it would be nice to have batteries and a few more cars on hand. A small Phillips screwdriver (not included) is also required to open the battery compartment. The loop runs at pretty high speed and the first few runs caused the car to go off track, but then it seemed to settle down and just ran non-stop until I turned off the battery box. Fast and bright set.
