Easy to assemble. The notches on the mounting plate align with the slot on the bike frame where the wheel is mounted. Mounts with the same nut previously used for jockey wheels. Being on the rear wheel and not directly behind the crank is a little different, but there isn't much room in the middle of the frame on a small bike. Bikes this size don't have a typical footpeg mount, but this one works just as well. Actually perfect, because it doesn't bother me when my little early two-wheeler races through the streets. He loves that he has a footstool like everyone else. Very satisfied with the quality and the price.
