Cheap wood for freestanding wine racks and cabinets

I use this, only store wine in the cellar so it doesn't really matter. However, the wood split on one of the cross members just as I was trying to tighten the screws. It comes with a hex wrench to drive the screws in, but some elbow grease is required to assemble. I wouldn't recommend it for displaying your wine on the counter or anything like that.
