Charging is normal. Bought to charge my phone on the bedside table at night. I liked it because it was compact and didn't move around on the bedside table. He stays where he is. The loading speed is a bit slower than I expected. The reasons I gave it 3 stars are 1 - it gets very hot when charging and 2 - my phone case is a bit bulky which seems to interfere with the charging connection. I have to move my phone to find the right place to start charging and sometimes charging stops randomly. It's a decent charger, but make sure your phone's case is thin enough to plug it in effectively. Value - CO overall rating: C+
