This thing has so many settings it's perfect for any time of the day or night. Colors are soothing and bright in a dark room, but not overly bright. The charge lasts about a week with frequent use. I once accidentally left it on for a full 24 hours and used it for another three days before having to charge it again. It's very durable and fluffy, I've washed it three times and the velcro is still intact. We have a penguin and I think he was the same size as my baby came home from the hospital, so about the size of a preterm baby. The volume has a lot of noise and can be heard in a noisy room. Songs are different but our favorites are nature sounds and heartbeats. I think I could go on and on but I just love it so much and highly recommend it. Do not be shy!
