I There's a five-pound spitz and an eight-pound shitzu. We were adopted as pensioners. Putinsky is what our veterinary service recommended. You eat for a day or so, then turn up your nose and leave. I personally can't blame them! This food is grey-brown in color and I see very little nutritious food in it. It also contains clumps of jelly-like fat. I usually throw out a fair amount and just try to leave some junk in the jar. I've tried them all! Feeding raw food caused my Chihuahua serious stomach problems. We just started buying Turkish minced meat and adding healthy olive oil. Sometimes I cook brown rice in broth to add, but not always, then we add English peas or green beans and carrots or squash. Pumpkin is great for stomach issues to help with loose or hard stools. Plain canned pumpkin (not cake mix), carrots, and sweet potatoes are also good. Also, if you have problems with loose stools, feed them some cottage cheese from time to time! Adds probiotics and they love it! Or give as a reward.
