Review on 📹 Arlo Ultra 2 Spotlight Camera: Enhanced Security System with 4K Video, Color Night Vision, and 2-Way Audio - VMS5240B-200NAS by Derek Dolla

TLDR: Cameras are great, 4k video is great, wide angle is great. Wireless installation is quick and easy. The cameras are great. The software is clunky at best. Timeline mode is only available if you pay extra and the camera is not connected to a power source. There are cheaper cameras that work better with software. Full Review: The cameras are great. They are very easy to use and install. Setting up the base station is very quick and synchronizing the cameras is easy. Night vision isn't bad with a built-in "spot" light. 4k video is great (but local streaming requires an SD card). The movement works quite well and the object detection was pretty decent in the 3 days I had the system up and running. In general, I do not agree with the functionality of the cameras and the ability to record videos. The bad side of this system is the software. The system does not allow you to use the timeline mode without connecting the cameras to a power source and paying for the service. It's not great. They rely entirely on the activation of the motion system to capture the video segment. Like I said, it works great, but does that mean it's 90% accurate. 80% 70%? You may be missing out if the camera only records when motion is detected. I have a much cheaper WYZE camera on my porch. Motion detection isn't perfect with the camera, but it does timeline recording (completely free). I had a bear filming a bird feeder on the porch, no motion enabled on the camera, but since it records continuously, no problem, I just scrolled back until I saw the bird feeder was there and dialed until I didn't saw what happened. You won't get it here unless you pay extra money. Night vision is decent but looks a lot better when you enable color night vision mode. This is only available when using a spotlight. Well I have accent lighting, spot lighting and some more. I would like to use the same mode without radiators, more discreetly and with less consumption, but this is not possible. I'm dissatisfied enough to return them. I'm not sure. 3 days might be too small a sample size, but $500 is a lot of money for two cameras considering I have a decent working WYZE camera that costs me $20, does more for free, and is less bulky is considered an Arlo camera that requires subscriptions. (Please note that I only purchased an indoor WYZE v2 camera and have been using it outdoors since March 2020 with no issues).
