Our cats are notorious for jumping on our counters and throwing things at our dogs. With this device we can safely store the bread. It has a handy drawer for other things that used to be on the counter. For example three coasters for drinks that we have left over and clips for chips. We've had ours for about a month now and it still smells like bamboo inside. Not scary. But noticeable. Pretty easy to assemble. An extra pair of hands makes this very easy, but not difficult on its own. It seems to be quite durable. Above and below are separate sections. The tree has magnets to align the sections, but not very strong. Of course, that's not a problem if you don't stack them on top of each other. Value for money is good because only wood costs more to build this.
