The Especial Scope is a commute or overnight backpack specifically designed for comfort and weather protection. Excellent build quality, shiny rubberized finish and waterproof zippers. The back is very generously padded with wide, sturdy straps which, while not padded, have a mesh layer for durability, as well as a detachable sternum strap. This is a very practical bag. The organization is minimal but effective. There's a document pocket in front and an admin pocket behind with some organization, but there's room for your own organizer and a huge main compartment that can be significantly expanded by unzipping. The main compartment is long and narrow and the bag doesn't open all the way, so far from ideal as hand luggage in my opinion. The laptop compartment hangs slightly over the padded bottom for good protection. . There is no zipper or strap to keep the laptop in place. All the small details of the bag are very beautiful. There is a standard lightweight strap with a clip, a series of bars at the top that perfectly match carabiners, and another strap at the top. There are compression straps on either side with magnetic snaps, which took me a while to figure out (you twist them). The water bottle pockets were disappointing as there was only room for a 0.5 liter bottle on either side. The contrasting interior makes it easy to find what you need. the bag, especially without the clamshell opening, but that's my only real complaint about the otherwise great bag. In terms of comfort, quality, durability and functionality, the Especial Scope is far superior to other bags in this price range.
