They also can take into consideration future needs of their customer base when they undertake projects like mine! I don't think there's anything specific about them (compared to other vendors) but rather it would be more dependent upon your own assessment given what you need now versus 5 years from now or 10 years etc. Consider how much support will come along side any project implementation/support if required; cost vs benefits analysis should factor heavily here too.
