I'm new to wet shaving with a safety razor. I chose this brush for two main reasons. 1. To support a local small business (A&J Barbershop) 2. Synthetic brush (no animals harmed). It doesn't hurt that it looks fantastic and is well built too. Using this brush in combination with Haircut & Shave Co Barbershop Shaving Soap I was able to create a thick lather with minimal effort. Since I had such great experiences with this brush, I bought the cream-colored version this afternoon! I recommend this shaving brush for beginners and/or experienced shavers.
