I like everything about this light show except the timer function. There's no setting to just set it to stay on - basically you NEED to set a timer. And yes, you can set an obscene number of minutes, but you have to sit and push the button a million times to get there. I use it as a night light for my 3 month old (it doubles as a sort of cell phone as she watches the stars go by) and I really don't want it ever to turn off and wake her up to play. dark.
