My brother had to install it. Pretty easy, may take a long time depending on you or your vehicle. There's a security feature that will turn off the car if you've left it unlocked before starting it with the remote. Now that I have this system, I really have to press the brake and start button to turn it off, or click the remote three times when I start the car. When you hit the button three times to start the car, you give it a few seconds to do its thing, it doesn't start as usual. All in all this is a pretty handy gadget and a really great upgrade for any old car. Bought for my Nissan Altima 2016.
