So I bought this thinking it was marine grade. I wouldn't consider it marine as the spot where you connect the cords to get to your accessories is completely open and exposed to the weather, water or other elements. The lid covers it from the top but there is so much clearance on the side that I'd be surprised if water didn't get in, you couldn't leave it out in the weather and get it to work properly. It seems well built and would suit my needs under the hood of my truck, but I wouldn't use it on a boat and wouldn't consider it marine grade.
