Okay, let's get that out of the way for now. Satechi only recently added this product to Revain - before that it was only available on the website I ordered it from, so you don't see 'Verified Buyer' on my name. That's what I wanted and not the other two Satechi chargers that didn't have GaN smart scaling, so I had no choice but to buy from their website. I believe my purchase was made sometime in November 2020 which means I have been using this device for around 6 or 7 months now. I use it to charge my cell phones, batteries, laptops, headphones, flashlights, speakers, etc. almost non-stop. ------ PROS ----- (1.) It has a cable that goes from the wall to the charger instead of a fold-out built-in plug. You ask why it's a pro? Firstly, the socket takes up much less space and does not fall out of the socket, because. Not hard. I can't tell you what big forks are, but heavy forks are for me. Second, reversible connectors tend to fail prematurely, especially if you're plugging and unplugging frequently. Third, the USB-C cables that support the highest transfer rates are very short, so the extra length on this power cable is great. (2.) 100W plus GaN smart scaling is the best you can do these days. You won't find many other charging boxes that offer 100W and intelligent GaN scaling. I think the Anchor is perhaps the best example of this, but the Anchor costs a lot more and, as far as I can tell, is rarely sold at a significant discount. Also, most other GaN boxes have too many USB-A ports and/or give too much power to USB-A ports at the expense of USB-C ports. Everything is moving towards powerful USB-C, hence this is it a problem if you want to protect yourself in the future. . Likewise. Who doesn't already have 10 USB A chargers? I do not need you anymore! (3.) This is related to (2.), but both USB-C ports put out 100W when only one of them is in use. Why is it important? Well, if you've ever used high-powered equipment and a block like this, you probably already know why. If you accidentally choose the wrong port to charge your powerful device, you'll be back in a few hours very confused as to why it's barely charging. Well, you've gone for a low-power USB-C connector - sorry! With that, as long as you don't use other ports, you get the full 100 watts of whatever you use. Sounds small, but let me tell you, the frustration avoided by both being powerful is wonderful. (4.) As far as I can tell, Satechi does appear to actually develop and maintain its own products the same way Anker does. . Because of this, I feel better about their products than about chargers that appear to have been mass-produced to the same type drawings and then a faceless company slapped their name on them and tried to pretend they were a real brand. In fact, you won't be able to find any trace of such companies in a year's time. On the other hand, Satechi has been around for a while. ------ CONS ------ (1.) The 1 year warranty doesn't inspire much confidence and I would prefer 2 years. or 3 years, but then again I don't think many legitimate companies offer this type of warranty on their chargers at the prices that Satechi charges. Anker does 18 months, but they also charge you a lot more for their product. Bottom line: I haven't found another charger on Revain that offers all the benefits I've listed at this price point, and most have more downsides anyway. I'm leaning towards this charger as the best Revain charger at the moment with 2 USB-C PD ports and 1 USB-A port. This review is from 6/20/21 and I'm away from my computer and constantly checking new devices so I probably won't go back to this update until I find one to buy another charger if/when I want one.
