I had these around my house. I've used ziplock bags so far, but while they're transparent and eco-friendly, they tend not to stay closed, are breathable, and tend to be relatively stiff and waste space, especially when you get to the larger ones. I've found them to tear over time, especially at the seams. Mesh bags solve these problems. They are not protected from moisture, but this is not necessary. I keep a lot of unnecessary things in it that would otherwise end up in a pile of different things. Extra insoles like excess winter gloves, extra paracord and laces, sewing and repair details like zippers and grommets, physical therapy equipment like squeeze balls and hand rests, khaki pockets, etc. Mesh pockets make organization a lot easier. I bought the 11x15" in black which seemed like an idea. I swapped out the drawstrings for black, but you can use other colors if you want to implement the organization system that way. You can order bags in other colors too. Feel feels relatively strong - probably good for sports gear, but based on the fact that there are no reinforcements or grommets on the "tulip" cord, I suspect some part of the bag will tear with regular use, especially if it's harder for storage Sports equipment is used inventory or tools but I highly recommend them for organizational purposes.
