Review on ITOYA Presentation Portfolio Photography Documents by Lori Aguirre

Terrific! The best for long runs! 5 STARS!

A seasoned photographer (I've been into it seriously since the 1980's), I got into large format printing in the mid 90's. I bought my first large format printer and took a year-long art course in 2007-2008. I currently print all of my work on an Epson Stylus Pro 7890 printer. Anything I print with a long edge no larger than 24 inches and no wider than 18 inches is now included in one of my two Itoya Art Portfolio presentation books . These books are very well made and have a neat, narrow binding. I print on thick, high-quality sheet and roll paper. Most of my materials are 100% cotton, Fine art photo paper and 325 to 400 gsm or more, including canvases. The weight of these papers adds up quickly, and yet my 18" x 24" Itoya book can handle them without breaking. The front and back of the book are rigid, as is the binding. The book protects the images and keeps its shape. I should note that I added three velcro strips to my 18 x 24 book that hold the back and front covers closed when stored upright (I attached them and they behave like "latches"). Didn't feel I needed it for the smaller 13x19 book. The sides are crystal clear (no reinforcing mesh) and each pocket or envelope (designed to hold two prints) is black. A sheet of acid-free paper to separate images instead of placing them side by side. I prefer the black separator sheet as opposed to some manufacturers who use a white sheet. Actually, I have two 13" x 19" sheets. Itoya presentation books and an 18" x 24" version. I also print very large images of 24x85 inches and then there are special print jobs that can exceed 60x80 inches (for which I use the tiling technique). Most prints are larger than 18 inches. x 24" fits in one of three hard-shell briefcases that can hold prints up to 26" wide and 36" long. However, the Itoya Art Portfolio books are the best way to showcase sample images, which can be printed in a larger format if the viewer is interested. in the Itoi books. It keeps me from pulling out clumsy, large briefcases, then find a safe place to open the case and risk tearing or damaging it. I may show smaller versions of 18" x 24" or even 13" x 19" first. Then if anyone is interested in seeing it printed out in full size I can go to my largest formatted storage folders to get it. I have two expensive Moab quinyl sleeves for my 13" x 19" prints and I have to say that the Itoya Art Portfolio books are far more convenient and significantly less expensive. The fact that the prints are protected from direct contact means that the images last much longer than any other storage method I have used. Manufacturer. The Itoya brand seems to take everything into account, from the increasing weight of each image added to the book to opening the case, there is a risk of tearing it or damaging it.
